Fingerprint from Outside Canada

Canadians and foreign nationals living abroad requiring a certified RCMP fingerprint certificate for employment, volunteering, or immigration can apply with us to have their ink fingerprints re-digitized and submitted to the RCMP database electronically for police clearance.

    This fee may be subject to a $25 RCMP fee, depending on the type of application.

    We only process your payment when we have received your complete Application by mail.

The Application Process:

If you want your fingerprints processed, please email info@cicfingerprinting.ca to request an Application Package. Please quote "CIC Fingerprints - International" in the subject line. Once we receive your request, we will send you the application forms and the C-216 RCMP fingerprint form for you to complete.

When you receive the Application Package, carefully review and follow these step-by-step procedures to submit your completed application:

  • Visit your local Police service or an accredited fingerprint agency and have your fingerprints taken on the C-216 fingerprint form.

  • Complete the Third-Party Consent form, which includes the applicant's name and date of birth. The Third-Party Consent form MUST have the applicant's fingerprint in the designated box along with the signature of the applicant and the name and address of the person or organization to receive the results.

  • Include a Canadian passport-size photo (50 mm x 70 mm). Photographs MUST be taken within the past 6 months and with a neutral facial expression. The reverse side of your photo must have your name, date of birth and the date the photograph was taken.

  • Include a copy of two (2) pieces of government issued identification (front and back) certified as a true copy by the police, notary public lawyer or Canadian Consulate. One piece of ID MUST have a clearly visible picture of the applicant on it.

  • Complete the Credit Card Authorization form. Payment may be made by Visa or Mastercard. You may also phone us to provide you with your credit card information.

  • When you contact us, we will send you an Application Package which includes detailed instructions and the required C-216 RCMP form.

  • The turn around is 2 - 3 weeks from the date you mail out your completed package to us.

  • Unless you have requested for your results to be sent to a third-party, the RCMP will mail your results directly to the address you provide us with. The RCMP will mail to international addresses.

    If you wish to receive an email copy of your results instead, please indicate this on your application form and provide us with your email address.

  • You may contact the RCMP directly to inquire about the status of your fingerprint results. Please note that they receive a high volume of requests on a daily basis. As such, there may be delays in receiving a response. Ensure you include your name, date of birth and DCN number in the email.
